Mercedes-Benz plans to integrate TikTok in its new E-Class model with an updated version of the MBUX infotainment system, which will allow drivers to watch videos while parked. The inclusion of TikTok illustrates Mercedes’ presence in the Chinese market, where the app is highly relevant.
Other third-party apps such as Zoom, Angry Birds, Vivaldi, and Webex will also be available. Mercedes aims to integrate third-party apps more easily through its new software architecture and app store.
The automaker also announced a partnership with Google and lidar company Luminar.
