Nigerian fintech company TeamApt has rebranded as Moniepoint, the name of its flagship product, as a testament to its success and to bring the company closer to its customers.
Moniepoint will also relocate its headquarters to London, with plans to expand into East and North Africa.
The company, which had a customer base of over 600,000 businesses and processed an annual total payments volume of over $170 billion in 2022, won the National Inclusive Payment Initiative Award from the Central Bank of Nigeria and was recognized as one of the top 250 fintech globally by CB Insights.
Moniepoint plans to launch new products including bookkeeping, longer-tenured working capital loans and international payment collections in the coming months.
The recent policies of the Central Bank of Nigeria to demonetize the economy have not affected Moniepoint as cashless transactions are already a part of their business.
